Does Root Canal affect adjacent teeth?

A Root Canal treatment is performed to repair and salvage a tooth that is infected or decayed. The treatment involves removing the nerves and pulp present within the decayed tooth, cleaning it and sealing it. Usually, root canal treatments are safe but however, sometimes despite the dentist's efforts to disinfect and seal the tooth, new infections might emerge after the root canal.
This re-infection can occur due to many reasons and can decay the adjacent teeth if left unchecked. However, be rest assured that this is a rarity given the advancements made in the field of dentistry. So actually root canal does not affect adjacent teeth. A regular dental check-up should be able to point such infections if they are present.

Do fillings strengthen teeth?

Dental fillings have been used to restore decayed or fractured teeth for many hundreds of years. Although the process of dental fillings has remained almost the same throughout, the fillings used have changed quite a bit. Due to the improvements in dentistry, today's filling materials have been greatly improved.  Today's fillings are mercury-free, tooth-colored composite fillings. These filings are made up of durable resin and porcelain materials.
